Women's Youths in Balaclava

Youths in Balaclava is a Singapore-based youth creative collective. Started in 2015, the 18-strong team unites designers, musicians and illustrators wishing to challenge the elitist status quo of the local fashion industry. YIB entered the spotlight in 2017 after meeting with photographer Ryan O’Toole Collett, known for shooting for Burberry and Off-White, who came to Singapore to cover the launch of a new Dover Street Market store. Together, they spent a week documenting «the other side» of the city which culminated in a book release and collaboration with DSM. In 2019, YIB joined the Comme des Garcons family to enhance global exposure and distribution under the expert mentorship of Rei Kawakubo and Adrian Joffe. YIB’s latest creation — Lost in Transit, an SS'20 collection which debuted at the Paris Fashion Week, is now available at SV77.
