The founders and creators of VETEMENTS have changed the rules of fashion industry for ever. For a two-year period the brand has become the most influential in streetwear and proved that customers can really buy a hoody for $1,000, and that fashion shows can be held under a bridge on the outskirts of Paris. In 2022 Guram Gvasalia, who is behind the brand VETEMENTS, changes the rules again and reveals his new project, VTMNTS.
VTMNTS' mission is to give a young customers the same luxury quality that Hermes offers to its sophisticated ones.
'VTMNTS clothes are designed with the use of advanced technologies mixed with authentic sartorial techniques invented centuries ago,' Guram Gvasalia says.
The signature style of VETEMENTS is popped up in the new label's collections, but it also has a distinctive emphasis on tailoring. You won't see torn printed tees on the catwalk – they've been replaced with full-length raincoats and double-breasted jackets with classic trousers. VTMNTS brand advocates for investment pieces that are supposed to serve the owner for more than one decade – quite a vantage point in times when sustainability and recycling are in high demand.
An important feature of the collections is the non-binary approach in clothes. VTMNTS items will work on both female and male figure. According to Guram Gvasalia, the fashion industry needs to stop referring things to genders.
