Women's Haider Ackermann

Haider Ackermann is designer who was born in Colombia and was adopted at the age of 9 months by a French couple. Due to his father's profession Haider spent his childhood travelling throughout Africa. Finally settled in Holland he took courses in fashion design at the Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts. After graduation Haider had an internship at John Galliano and worked as an assistant of Belgium designer Wim Neels and in other worldwide renowned brands. His first collection was shown at Paris Fashion Week in 2001. Haider Ackermann aesthetics is based on the contrast, the mix of low and high culture, elegant tailoring and street fashion. His key color is black but splashes of bright palette do appear. Haider Ackermann garments have a simple cut, often asymmetrical, using mixed materials. Among Haider Ackermann`s fans are Penelope Cruz, Victoria Beckham and Janet Jackson. Though Ackermann's ultimate muse and also his friend is an actress Tilda Swinton. He presents women's and men's collections now and also serves as Berluti creative director.
